Dr. McMillin has been a Tacoma chiropractor helping Tacoma, Fircrest, University Place, and surrounding areas with great chiropractic care for over 25 years.   He combines the best technical chiropractic care expertise with individual attention.    Providing effective pain relief and great patient care is his top priority.  We have had thousands of happy patients over the years.



Dr. McMillin has extensive expertise in a wide range of chiropractic care approaches, and is skilled in safe and effective spinal manipulation and chiropractic adjustment procedures, extremity joint manipulation/adjustment approaches, manual therapies, physical medicine procedures, and rehab.  His skill and expertise is in guiding the right direction or combination of approaches for each patient.



With a strong commitment to a solid educational foundation and evidence-based chiropractic care, Dr. McMillin graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic West with Cum Laude honors in 1988.  He was selected to fill one of two for a residency positions at PCCW, and then offered an Adjunct Faculty at Palmer West.  During chiropractic residency, Dr. McMillin developed a Back School and lumbar spine (low back) rehab program for patient care continued use at the Palmer Chiropractic Outpatient Clinic.  

Since then, Dr. McMillin has continued to expand his education.  He has completed a 3-yer post-graduate certification program in chiropractic and general rehabilitation; a certification program in complex case review work from the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners; and regular continuing education conference and seminar course work. 

 Dr. McMillin maintains a strong focus on using the latest information to increase the value of care he provides in patient care. 


After returning to Washington in 1989, Dr. McMillin has been in full time active practice helping people in the Tacoma area and surrounding communities of Fircrest, University Place, Lakewood, Gig Harbor.  People drive from Seattle and Olympia for Dr. McMillin’s expertise, and he has even had patients fly in from around the country for care.

His clinical experience also includes:

Aside from clinical practice and direct patient care, Dr. McMillin is frequently called upon for second opinions in complex cases or injury issues, and is also a requested expert witness in medico-legal cases regarding injury, negligence, and malpractice.



With functional rehab a central clinical interest, Dr. McMillin has spend thousands of hours in independent research leading to the development of new and innovative approaches that are now in place at some of the best spine care facilities around the country.  He has been invited on many occasions to teach new approaches as continuing education at chiropractic colleges, professional association conferences, ProSport Chiropractic symposiums, the American Board of Chiropractic Sports Physicians symposiums, and interdisciplinary groups.



Dr. McMillin has been the recipient of numerous awards and acknowledgements over the years including:

Drawing on his years of experience and research, Dr. McMillin is frequently called upon as a lecturer and continuing education instructor for other chiropractors and health care providers including medical and physical therapy providers.  He has been a requested lecturer and/or continuing education instructor for:

  • Southern California University of Health Sciences
  • American Board of Chiropractic Sports Physicians

He has recently been invited to instruct a continuing education series on functional rehab for chiropractors around the country  for Palmer College of Chiropractic for 2014/15.

When not working, Dr. McMillin enjoys an active lifestyle with the side range of activities available in the beautiful Pacific Northwest including hiking, biking, skiing and snowboarding, fishing, kayaking, camping.  He has a wonderful son and daughter, and he cherishes being a father as a central part of a full life.   His family and activities remind him first hand of the importance of staying fit, healthy, and active as a way of life.
